About Susan

My love affair with books began when I made a bad grade in math in the sixth grade! Not allowed to watch TV until I brought the grade up, I filled my time with books. I turned my love of reading into a love of writing romance. If the hero is a smart, sexy and sinfully rich alpha male, he can be found in my books along with a strong heroine that captures the hero’s heart.

For twenty years I was a high school substitute teacher and that is… another bio. I live near Atlanta, Georgia, with my husband of over thirty years. We have four grown children, eight grandchildren, including a set of twins. My youngest son received a heart transplant at the age of one. He is now in his thirties. I have written a book about Nick’s experiences. Nick’s New Heart 30 Years and Counting…. I’ve written another nonfiction book as well. A World War II Flight Surgeon’s Story. This is a firsthand telling of a doctor’s experience while serving in Africa, England, France and Germany.

I love castles, traveling, sewing, crafting and I read voraciously.

A few additional interesting (I think so, anyway) facts about me:
  1.  I have spent the night in a castle on the Scottish border.
  2.  I took my four teenage kids to Europe for an entire summer, traveling with only a school backpack for luggage, and swapped houses in Germany and Wales.
  3. I’ve been to 49 of the 50 states.
  4. I got washed overboard while on a deep sea fishing trip.
  5. I have an Atlanta Olympic Games pin collection.
  6. I’ve been to Malta.
  7. My first car was a black and white MGB. Wish I still had it.
  8. I have snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef.
  9. I majored in Political Science at Auburn University.
  10. I’ve ridden in a Jet boat on a New Zealand river.
  11. I collect apples.
  12. I love hats.
  13. My grandfather was born in the territory of Oklahoma.
  14. I also write nonfiction.
  15. I’ve ridden a mule into the Grand Canyon and spent the night.
